John Farrell
John Farrell’s extensive and varied career in theater includes set design for the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Juilliard School, Naked Angels, Directors’ Company, AMAS Repertory Theatre, Theatreworks USA, John Houseman Theater, and Douglas Fairbanks Theater. From 1992 to 2013, he created more than 50 productions as resident designer for Dicapo Opera Theatre and the set design for the 75th-anniversary tour of Porgy and Bess. In Mexico City, Farrell has originated set designs for producer Morris Gilbert and musicals as distinct as Fiddler on the Roof and Bésame Mucho. Notable productions include Sacco and Vanzetti at the Tampa Opera, La Vie en Bleu for the Walnut Theatre in Philadelphia, and Dodsworth at Casa Mañana in Fort Worth, Texas. Since 1993, John Farrell has served as the exclusive set and illusion designer for the magician Criss Angel, overseeing four seasons of Chris Angel Mindfreak for the A&E Network and a live show at the Luxor in Las Vegas.
